We are a veteran owned and operated business that specializes in a slower paced look at Murrells Inlet. Capt. Jeff ran Reel Salty Charters for 14 years before his back slowed him down, but it didn't slow his desire to be on the water. Come enjoy either a guided fishing tour or a scenic tour in the marshes of Murrells Inlet. If you know Capt. Jeff, you know his bad dad jokes and funny stories. If you don't know him then be prepared to have a few laughs while paddling through Murrells Inlet.

Due to the shallow water we will be in we use the Lifetime 10' Sit on top Tioga anglers Kayaks. These are very stable and user friendly. Each one has a dry storage compartment in front of the kayaker. We will have anchor poles on the kayaks to hold you in place to fish.
You need to have a valid South Carolina Saltwater License for this trip. Follow the link below to purchase. Please don't wait till the day of the trip to do this. It takes time to complete, and this will take time from our adventure.

Please plan to arrive at the meeting location at least 30 minutes before departure so we can get the proper PFD fitment and safety speech completed. Failure to do so will cause your time to be less on the water.
We provide you with everything needed to safely operate your vessel. A PFD with whistle, and ore for the scenic tours and on the fishing tours we provide you with the PFD with whistle, ore. fishing pole, (you may bring your own if you wish), bait (either Live mullet, mud minnows or cut bait). I will have rigging gear on my kayak if you get cut off or loose gear.
We do not provide Drinks, Snacks, Coolers, Ice, Sunscreen or towels. There is a convenience store close to the meeting spot that may carry everything there, but I'd suggest having them ready to ice down the day before. It gets hot out there, and I don't want anyone to get overheated so make sure to have plenty refreshments for the duration of your tour. Coolers need to be small enough to fit on a kayak.
The morning of our tour we will meet at "Oyster Landing" in Murrells Inlet. Once we have all gotten acquainted, we will go over safety and PFD fitment. From there we will set off on our tour.
If you are scheduled for the scenic tour, we will paddle through the marshes of Murrells Inlet and depending on the duration we may go to a beach that is only accessible by boat or kayak and stretch our legs for a bit before we start our way back.
If you are scheduled to Fish, we will cover the techniques that have served me well catching our target species depending on the time of year. We prefer to do catch and release, you are more than welcome to keep and clean your catch as long as it is legal.
1. What is the maximum number of people you can take?
Answer: 3
2. Is there a minimum age that you take?
Answer: 16 . Everyone should have a License on fishing trips
3. Do you guarantee catching fish?
Answer: I wish I could but there are way too many variables in play to make that claim. For instance, tides play a role as well as water clarity. Fish swim and may not be in the same place as they were earlier due to getting spooked or predators. Skill level of the clients, people fishing the spots we are going to etc. In my 14 years as a guide I can count on one hand the days, we got skunked. I will make the guarantee that you'll get 100% effort by me to get you on fish.
4. Is there a weight limit for the Kayak?
Answer: yes 275lbs.
5. Do you cancel for weather?
Answer: Depends on the weather, Thunderstorms, absolutely. Wind, as long as it doesn't make our tour difficult. Scenic tours we would be ok with some winds, but fishing can be challenging.
6. Can I keep my catch?
Answer: We are a catch and release service, however if your catch is legal, you may absolutely keep it, but you will need a way to store it and take it with you.
7. Is there a place to change clothes or use the bathroom?
Answer: No. There are convenience stores close to our launch site so you may want to take care of that before arriving.

I get it, things happen that are out of our control sometimes and plans change so below is my policy
Your guide, (me) Capt. Jeff came to the Myrtle Beach area in the late 80's by way of the United States Air Force. I had fished most of my life back home in North Georgia but once I got the salt in my blood, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my days. Fast forward to 2007, I purchased my first real boat and began to learn the ins and outs of fishing inside and out of Murrells Inlet. In 2013, I started my own fishing charter business with my daughter as my first mate, Reel Salty Fishing Charters. After 12 years of fishing inshore, nearshore, and offshore my back (I had a spinal fusion in 2010) couldn’t handle the daily abuse of being in a boat hitting waves, gaffing large fish and standing for hours and hours every day so I reluctantly sold the business and had planned to go into early retirement and to continue to go camping with my wife and enjoy kayak fishing around the State of South Carolina. Well, that lasted all of 4 months and the insanity of not doing what I love set in. I realized that kayaking offered me a way to keep my core strong while still being able to get out and meet people with the same passion as I have. So here we are. We will be fishing the southern ends of Murrells Inlet surrounded by Huntington Beach State Park. This is where I spent many years fishing with clients catching everything from flounder, red drum and speckled trout to sharks and rays.
